Burn Ban in Effect

ALL OUTDOOR FIRES ARE BANNED

Only exceptions are for outdoor grills which are attended with a fire extinguisher, burning trash in burn barrels with screen tops, and self-contained fire pits with screen tops attended with a fire extinguisher.

Violators are subject to fines and court action, and the cost of fighting a wildfire can be charged to the violator.

Isle au Haut does not have the equipment and trained personnel to adequately fight most wildfires.

Ban in effect until further notice.

Comprehensive Plan Summer Update

The State offered only minor edits to our 2026 Comprehensive Plan Update. The edits were made. The Draft document is now available for public review: Town of Isle au Haut Comprehensive Plan 2026-2036

The plan is to have a formal town vote later this fall to accept the comprehensive plan. Date will be determined and advertised by the Select Board. A state mandated informational meeting will be held a week prior to the vote.
